Much of my career has been working on government contracts, most of these being classified. That makes it difficult to actually go into any detail on what I did, let alone actually show some of my work... For some things, I'm not even allowed to discuss who was my customer or what systems or languages I actually worked on... Others, I'm allowed to mention basics, but the details must remain classified...
This was one of those grey projects... I can discuss the basics of what I did, but can't show any of the actual work. While waiting for some clearances for the job I was actually hired to do, I did some work on a "Lend-Lease" project that Lockheed was experimenting with for new-hires. I was supposed to go to 5 different departments to see what others did in the company, but my first assignment didn't want to let me go. [Side Story - I actually applied to do carrier duty to support S-3A Vikings. The manager who hired me (and was waiting for my clearances to go through) denied my request. Seems that a carrier 'loses' two to three people every now and then, and he didn't want me to get 'lost'.]
This assignment was some prototype work for Lockheed's bid on the P-3C Orion Update IV project. Although the prototype work
was a success, Lockheed lost the bid for the update. Just before the decision was made, my clearances came through
and I moved onto the actual job I was hired to do...
